The newsletter of The Right to Life Committee of New Mexico, “Viva Life”, April 2010 edition, announced that John Sanchez was the only Lt. Governor candidate to be “fully endorsed”. Visit The Right to Life Committee’s website, www.rtlnm.org to view the endorsement.
After learning about the endorsement, John Sanchez made this statement: “I have taken a solid Pro-Life position and will continue to be a steady voice for the unborn and soon to be born. We must protect the life of the most vulnerable and innocent human beings. I will work hard to advocate for alternatives to abortion. Proper education and counseling, and adoption programs must be fully developed to promote Life, and protect babies, young parents and families.”

John is a native New Mexican who can trace his Republican roots to his great, great grandfather who was a Republican State Legislator from San Miguel county. John and his wife Debra, reside in Albuquerque and have two grown daughters.

John is an award-winning businessman. He has operated his company continually for over 27 years and is highly respected in the business community.
Agent of Change
In 1998, John defeated a former Mayor and was elected to his first office as a councilman to the Village of Los Ranchos.
In 2000, John took on the most powerful Democrat in the Legislature and defeated the Speaker of the House Raymond Sanchez. He led the fight to protect children by helping pass the ban on possession of child pornography.
In 2002, John ran for Governor. He cautioned the voters that unchecked power in Santa Fe would lead to massive state spending, pay to play, and more backroom deals. Unfortunately, under the Richardson/Denish Administration all of these and more have become a reality.
